Sharing Live Location with WhatsApp on Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
The Facebook-owned messenger, WhatsApp announced the live location sharing option for both Android & iOS that allow the users to share their real-time location with their friends and family on WhatsApp. Although there was a static location sharing feature available on WhatsApp earlier, but the real-time location sharing feature will help you keep track of someone as it changes as the person moves.
So here’s how it is done.
- In order to share the live location using WhatsApp on your Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, you need to have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your device. If you already have the WhatsApp installed, make sure it is updated.
- Now open the WhatsApp and the chat of the individual person with whom you want to share your live location with.
- Now tap the attachment icon next to the typing area of the chat where you will see multiple options like camera, documents, gallery etc. and select the “Location” icon from there.
- You will be prompted to the next screen, where you need to select the “Share Live Location” option. And that’s it. You are good to go.
You can decide how long you want to share your location with that individual person like – 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours and you can also add a comment if you want before confirming. Just like sending pictures, videos, messages and calling on WhatsApp, the live location is also protected by end-to-end encryption and you can turn it off anytime you want. The best thing about this feature is that it allows you to send location in a group chat and multiple people can share their location in a group, simultaneously. Great, isn’t it?
